JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: CBITS Facilitator
BENEFITS: Sick Time Accrual
DEPARTMENT: Mental Health
REPORTS TO: Mental Health Programs Director

Position Summary:

The CBITS facilitator will work in a collaborative manner with another CBITS facilitator and is responsible scheduling meetings with administrators of the schools to begin CBITS in those schools, for the provision of group sessions during the academic year, along with individual student, parent and teacher sessions.

About the program: CBITS is an evidence based cognitive behavioral program to help reduce symptoms of PTSD and increase resilience in youth ages 10-15 years old. The program consists of 10 group sessions,

1-3 individual sessions for exposure to trauma memory, 2 parent education sessions and 1 teacher/school personal educational session. The idea of including teachers and parents is to help them understand how PTSD works, what to look for and how to help the youth who are suffering from these symptoms. CBITS is specifically designed to be implemented in schools and Operation SafeHouse provides CBITS in Lake Elsinore USD, Nuview Union School District, Alvord, Banning, Coachella Valley, Desert Sands, Jurupa Valley, Moreno Valley, Palm Springs, Perris, Riverside, Val Verde, and Hemet USD upon request, funded by Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health (formally known as Riverside County Department of Mental Health) Prevention and Early Intervention Department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. The Facilitator will provide group sessions, individual sessions, parent education sessions, teacher/school personal education sessions.
  2. Participates in all contract-required trainings throughout the year, including First Aid/CPR, Suicide Awareness and Prevention, CBITS facilitator training, CBITS Booster, PEI Summit and Cultural Awareness and monthly CBITS fidelity meetings.
  3. Collaborate with school staff to provide on-site services
  4. Obtains parental consent for student participation
  5. Conducts student screenings to asses for program eligibility
  6. Conducts group sessions in collaboration with a co-facilitator
  7. Demonstrates self-awareness, willingness to receive feedback and appropriate professions/personal boundaries
  8. Actively participates in group and individual supervision and trainings, as needed
  9. Demonstrates awareness of transference and countertransference issues and addresses them as they arise.
  10. Completes required documentation thoroughly, neatly and in a timely manner
  11. Communicates and corresponds with outside agencies, authorities and institutions in a professional and timely manner
  12. Clinical supervision for the accumulation of hours toward licensure is provided by the Operation SafeHouse Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapist or Social Work from an accredited university or college
  2. Eligibility for supervised hours toward licensure (registered intern: MFTI, PCCI, or ACSW)
  3. Available morning and afternoon hours; as the groups will be conducted during school hours.
  4. Superior organizational abilities and attention to detail
  5. Fluent Spanish speaking preferred
  6. A general understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles, group processes and trauma symptoms/responses
  7. Must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
  1. Must be able to pass a full criminal background check, including fingerprinting, and TB Skin Test.
  2. Have a clean driving record and driver’s license.

Position Summary:

The Outreach Worker provides street-based crisis intervention services, gateway services, referrals, and crisis support counseling to homeless youth on the streets. Supports homeless youth transition into a stable living environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Outreach Worker will work out in the community, as well as spend time at Operation SafeHouse shelters to ensure a seamless transition for youth that are leaving the streets.
  • Work closely with all street youth who voluntarily enter into SafeHouse programs.
  • Complete daily time and activity sheets. Conduct pre-entrance surveys with street youth and administer post–tests for youth who partake in SafeHouse shelter services.
  • Responsible for tracking the progress of youth who have entered our programs through street outreach or through the Safe Place Program. This includes following-up for up to 3 months once they have exited the program.
  • Teach risk reduction strategies and coping skills to youth on the streets.
  • Conduct street outreach with other street outreach team members to ensure personal safety.
  • Complete and submit monthly reports to Outreach Director by the 5th of each month. Maintain statistical data as assigned.
  • Maintain clean driving record, keep company vehicle clean and report maintenance issues/auto repair issues to agency in written form.
  • Serve as Operation SafeHouse liaison at community events.
  • Complete mileage log as applicable for driving between sites during outreach activities.
  • Make weekly trips/visits to bus stations, local malls, Safe Place sites and community centers located at parks and other areas where street youth congregate.
  • Attend community fairs to promote awareness of agency programs and interact with street youth to build trust in our services.
  • Maintain proper boundaries with clients to ensure appropriate therapeutic relationships.
  • Complete applicable paperwork and enter data into HMIS.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience working with at risk youth or homeless population.
  3. Good listening and problem-solving skills.
  4. Have the ability to work as a team and strong networking skills to build community partnerships.

Position Summary:

To provide evening, overnight and weekend supervision for Main Street clients ages 18-24. Including handling of emergencies and/or crisis intervention.

Residential Advisor Job Duties:

  1. Document and report all significant resident, program and facility information.
  2. Participate in program activities.
  3. Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
  4. Provide emergency transportation.
  5. Complete activity reports on violations of program rules/regulations and/or any incidents that occur during shift.
  6. Distribute and log out medication to residents.
  7. Conduct grounds check for safety issues
  8. Complete assigned cleaning duties and program laundry on shift (to include but not limited to vacuuming office, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, sweeping and mopping)
  9. Report all incidents to program directors.
  10. Assisting with life skills presentations.
  11. Creating blank intake files.
  12. Participate in all required team and staff meetings.
  13. Maintain accurate and timely records for each participant.
  14. Sanitizing and keeping Main Stay intake area clean and tidy.
  15. Data entry as assigned.
  16. Complete RHYTTAC trainings as assigned.

Residential Advisor Skills and Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma and experience working with at risk youth or in the human service field.

Position Summary:

The Stress and Your Mood (SAYM) Clinician is responsible for the implementation of the SAYM program in schools and community partner sites (churches, youth centers, libraries, etc.).

Stress and Your Mood is an evidence based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program that is funded by Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health (formally known as Riverside County Department of Mental Health) Prevention and Early Intervention Department (RUHS-BH PEI). SAYM is intended for students who are showing early signs of mental health disorders and are at risk for developing more severe mental health disorders due to lack of knowledge of healthy coping skills. SAYM consists of 3 modules designed to help students set appropriate goals, increase and incorporate pleasant activities into daily life, decrease negative thoughts and increase positive thoughts, and strengthen relationships by learning and applying healthy communication skills. SAYM consists of up to 20 group, individual, and/or family sessions to youth ages 16-25 years old who qualify.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in all contract-required trainings throughout the year, including First Aid/CPR, Suicide Awareness and Prevention, SAYM training and fidelity meetings, PEI Summit and Cultural Awareness.

POSITION: Youth Care Staff

HOURS: Full-time/Part-time

Position Summary:

Responsible for implementation of procedures and programs for shelter residents. Support/implement the successful integration of treatment and educational services, to ensure that the needs of the residents are met, and ensures the safety, security and cleanliness of the shelter facilities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise clients at all times. Safety of clients is the primary responsibility.  If clients are in the Recreation Room, a staff member needs to be in the room with them (this goes for the living room and outside as well).
  • Sign in and out for each shift. Attend all scheduled shifts as assigned on time.
  • Know, understand and implement Title 22 regulations
  • Before shift change, conduct a perimeter check and a head count with previous shift staff on duty.
  • Read the shift log for updated information pertaining to shelter clients.
  • Turn off outside lights during day shift; turn on outside lights during evening shift.
  • Complete a daily log and progress notes on each client. If a client is on a pass, log it in on their Progress Note and daily log.  Fill out Group Log. The progress note should include notification of the child’s progress; identification of the possible need for professional services; and communication of such findings to professional staff.
  • Make a chore list.
  • Complete all intakes and departures during shift and complete CPS reports if abuse has been reported. All Suspected Child Abuse Reports must be reported immediately and mailed and faxed within 36 hours.
  • All paperwork must be completed before staff leaves. Refer to Policy and Procedure Manual for all forms that needs to be completed and for proper completion of these forms.
  • Place names of all new intakes along with pertinent information (i.e., if client is on medication, if client is a ward of the court, or if client has a court date set, etc.) on board. Erase names of all departures.
  • Answer all phone calls and take messages as needed and date and time all calls.
  • Before lights are out make sure that all bedroom windows are shut and blinds are closed. Bedroom doors are to remain open at all times unless changing clothes.  Bed checks are to be done every 10-15 minutes.
  • Make sure house is cleaned, paperwork is completed, and all other pertinent information is passed on to the next shift.
  • Examples of information that needs to be communicated to incoming staff; (clients on passes, possible intakes or departures, person transporting clients, possible visitors, clients on suicide watch, clients on medication, and behavioral problems).
  • Attend all staff meetings (last Thursday of each month).
  • Lead Youth Care staff is in charge of shift.
  • It is the Lead Youth Care Staff’s responsibility to see that all the above has been completed before shift change. If the Lead Youth Care Staff is not in, then the responsibility goes to the designated Lead staff person.
  • Complete all donation forms and put away before shift is over.
  • All intake belongings are to be marked and secured before shift is over.
  • Laundry should be washed, dried, and put away by staff. The clients may fold the laundry as a chore.
  • It is your responsibility to pick up and clean up after yourself.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 2 yrs experience working with adolescents in the human service field.
  • Current enrollment in college degree program preferred.
  • Ability to model appropriate independent living skills and communicate and interact effectively with youth from a variety of social/cultural backgrounds.
  • Crisis intervention experience and good documentation skills.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good computer knowledge and skills.
  • Clear state and FBI criminal background check.

Position Summary:

The Handyman will be responsible for general maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness to ensure the facilities and equipment in the building are in good working order at all times. The Handyman must have relevant building maintenance skills including, plumbing, electrical, as well as minor plaster and painting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc.
  • Perform maintenance and light repairs
  • Alert staff on-site of any projects that temporarily affect mobility, access, or safety.
  • Work carefully to ensure the safety of the employee and others when working with hazardous materials, chemicals, or electricals.
  • Perform routine landscaping on the grounds
  • Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
  • Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets)
